IMPORTANT: ACT QUICKLY

In the wake of water damage it is important to take action quickly to prevent further damage to a home or office and its furnishings.

Whether it’s a leaky pipe under a sink, a burst water heater or a broken toilet valve, whatever the source, it’s important to begin the drying process quickly – ideally within the first 24 hours of the event.

Assessment

  • Excessive moisture left in a building, if not dried quickly, can result in secondary damage as well as microbial contaminations of the environment.
  • Effective water extraction and the application of psychometric principles (temperature, dehumidification and air movement)
  • Measured results and monitoring are the keys to success when drying water damaged properties

On site service:

  • Checking moisture content of building materials to identify any elevations in recommended readings and the means to rapidly dry materials to prevent secondary problems.
  • State of the art equipment for measuring the moisture content of materials including wood, insulation, brick, drywall, and concrete. Non-invasive as well as invasive moisture meters are available. Meters are regularly calibrated and certified. All readings are digitally recorded and dated for documentation.

graphWater Damage & Restoration

Following a water loss, owners should call a certified restoration expert who specializes in water damage mitigation. An expert should use specialized drying techniques and equipment to rapidly restore the building to it’s pre-loss state. Efficient drying requires that all standing water be extracted as soon as possible.

Extracting excess water from carpets and pads is equally important. Without proper extraction and drying, carpets and pads must be removed and replaced, which can be expensive. We use state of the art equipment to remove 95% of all water from carpets and pads prior to drying. With less moisture to evaporate, the drying time is cut dramatically.

The insurance industry tells us that 40% of all property losses are water damage, and 60% of all water damage losses are for the replacement of carpets and pads.

Using applied structural drying technologies which includes the use of high-volume turbo air movers in conjunction with state-of-the-art drying equipment, carpets and pads can be dried in place, without removing, disturbing or lifting the carpet. The need to remove will depend on the type of loss that you have experienced.

Drywall that has been damaged may need to be removed to minimize secondary damage and insure proper air flow is utilized for its maxim potential.

Water Categories

Water damage may occur from various sources where contamination is categorized by levels according to the water source.

Category 1 "Clean Water" – Drinkable or non-contaminate water source such as broken plumbing supply lines, tub or sink overflow.

Category 2 "Gray Water" – Contains chemicals & pollutants which can cause sickness & carry nutrients for microorganisms from sources such as washing machine or dishwasher overflow, broken fish aquariums, punctured water beds or broken toilet tanks.

Category 3 "Black Water" - Grossly unsanitary and contains pathogenic agents & organic matter from sources such as toilet overflow, sewage, sea water, rising river or ground water caused by flooding.

The longer you wait to call a professional a category 1,
Can turn into a Category 2 or 3 in 24 to 48 hours

Catastrophe Response

Upon a moment’s notice, Advanced will mobilize our emergency response catastrophe team to respond to a disaster.

Advanced is comprised of dedicated professionals that have performed disaster restoration across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Our goal is to get your property up and running as soon as possible.

When a string of hurricanes hit Florida in late summer 2004, our principle staff was one of the first responders, helping to restore hotels, condos, churches and other buildings back to conditions prior to hurricane destruction. During the hurricanes of 2005, or dedicated staff was again one of the first responders, helping to restore hotels, hospitals, condos and universities.
